Proactive research can help prevent blindness and reduce the incidence of eye related diseases.
High clinical volumes, years of experience in community work, collaborative relations with WHO (World Health Organization) and a competent research team uniquely position Aravind to conduct research.
The main focus will not only be on investigating and evaluating the genetic factors of vision robbing diseases like cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinoblastoma (eye cancer) etc., but to also engineer against gene mutations by developing a process to arrest and to rectify, if possible.
